Access to justice in Chad: civil society is mobilising itself

Despite justice reforms undertaken in recent years, the population of Chad still encounters numerous obstacles when trying to obtain access to justice. Given this situation, civil society organisations (CSOs) are taking action and providing legal advice and assistance: ASF is supporting three of these CSOs in their efforts to protect human rights.

Yalna reception centre for minors

Over 60 minors finally released!

N’Djamena – Through its project supporting minors, Avocats Sans Frontières has secured the release of 64 adolescents held in N’Djamena prison in Chad. Run in partnership with the Chadian NGO Association for the Promotion of Fundamental Rights, the project also highlights the difficulties that children and adolescents face in the legal system, and the manifest abuses they suffer.

Better Aid for Chadian Youth
