What is ASF?
Mission and vision
From Kinshasa to Tunis, from Jakarta to Bujumbura, our teams inform people about their rights, help civil society and lawyers to provide them with better assistance, and promote legislative reforms designed to increase respect for human rights.
History
In 1992, a group of solicitors and barristers from several countries launched the idea of Avocats Sans Frontières. A core group of Belgian lawyers united around the idea, and a few months later ASF was born in Brussels.
They support us
Some 20 institutional donors and bar associations financially support ASF’s activities.
Our teams
ASF has field offices in 7 countries and employs about 80 people of more than 15 different nationalities.
