Refusal to let the legal system be misused by those in power.

August 2001 - January 2002.
Le well-known political opposition leader Yawevo Agboyibo is arrested and summarily found guilty of defaming the Prime Minister.

ASF instructs a Burkinabé lawyer to attend the appeal hearing in the trial of the former President of the Togolese Bar. On 10 January 2002, the Court of Appeal quashes the proceedings for reasons of procedural irregularity. On 14 March 2002, the lawyer is released.
