Due to its limited human and financial resources, ASF is not in a position to offer individual legal aid outside of its programmes and its permanent missions. ASF can not take on individual files in areas such as immigration, visa applications, family law, tax law, succession or in civil and commercial litigation. Similarly, ASF does not intervene in judicial or administrative cases in Belgium, including criminal matters.

ASF around the world

ASF has no connection with the association Avocats Sans Frontières chaired by Gilles-William Goldnadel in France, nor with the American Association Lawyers Without Borders.

On the 4^th of November 2009, we had to withdraw the license of Avocats Sans Frontières France that enabled them to use the ‘Avocats Sans Frontières’ name since 1998. This was triggered by the violation of the dispositions outlined in the license.
